September 18 - What's with the tongue?

September 17 - Time Out

A "Time Out" is not just a term used by Super Nanny...

A "Time Out" is also used before a surgical procedure to verify they have the correct patient, procedure and procedure site. In this case, it was Kaitlyn before her lumbar puncture. To read more about her clinic visit, visit this post.

September 16 - All Star

September 15 - To Do List

September 14 - Safety First

Kaitlyn insisted on wearing her helmet, elbow pads and knee pads just to go out and ride her tricycle...LOL.

September 13 - Hello there...

I LOVE NH!

September 11 - New Hampshire

We made it to new Hampshire and we are scoping out the area so that we know where to go tomorrow morning for our hike!!!

This is the Mount Washington Resort and behind it...Mt. Washington!!! YIKES!!! Looks kinda big, don't-cha think? No, we did not stay here, too expensive for this trip. We stayed a rinky dink motor inn about 40 minutes from here... lol

September 10 - Travel Companion

Getting ready for our big hike this weekend up Mt. Washington in New Hampshire...I must be sure to pack my hiking boots!!!

September 8 - Toddler Taxi

When did my car become a Toddler Taxi? Before having a child, my car was always neat and tidy...now, you never know what random thing you will find in there...the mess drives me crazy, but listening to Katie whine when she is bored is much worse.

Falling behind

OK, I think it is safe to say that I have totally slacked off on my 365 Project...I am hoping to get caught up sometime soon...bare with me.

September 7 - Little Helper

Kaitlyn has taken to being my little helper at night when I am making her at-home chemo. We both have to wear a mask while crushing the pills because prolonged exposure can cause cancer...go figure. I hate that we have to do this, but mostly, I hate that she even knows about this stuff.

September 6 - Wine Tasting

Disclaimer: This is only grape juice....

September 5 - Lake Ripple Swans

They may look nice, but they are nasty little buggars!!!!

September 4 - Dean Park

Dean Park is by far my favorite park in the area. Here is Katie playing in the sandbox.

September 3 - YMCA

Sometimes, the "Y" feels like my second home. With all the classes that Katie & I take over there, I am there just about every day. Fall classes start next week. I love that we are getting so much out of our membership. In the market for a "family" gym? Two thumbs up for the "Y"!!!!

September 2 - Apple Tree

How many people can say that they have an apple tree in their own backyard? Well, I do! We don't do anything to cultivate healthy, edible apples, but this is one of the unique features that I love about my home.

September 1 - Sidewalk Chalk Love

Today, I came home to some very loving sidewalk chalk art. This heart was in the road, in front of my parking spot in the driveway. It reads, "I Love Mom". Mike also had one in front of his parking spot that read, "I Love Dad". This was the best part of my day...so very cute. Thank you Katie (and Meme!)

August 31 - Chemo Eyes

I can't stand that you can see the veins in Katie's eyes after she receives her chemo treatments. It gets really bad after she has a lumbar puncture. Sometimes, you can even see the veins in her head...I guess that's what a little bit of toxicity does to the body....I hate it!

August 30 - Muffins

Today, Katie & I baked muffins...blueberry & apple walnut...they were YUMMY!!!

August 29 - Royal Princess Ball

Today, we brought Katie to a Royal Princess Ball in Devens, MA. For more info, see this post.

August 28 - Mommy & Daddy's Bed

August 27 - Old Fisherman

This "Old Fisherman" painting hangs in my kitchen. It originally belonged to my grandmother, Marion Cummins (Mim). I have memories of this painting hanging in her home when I was growing up. On a trip "home" to Sweden, her mother, Elsa Fanning (Arming), bought it for her, knowing that she would like the painting.

Mim's sister, Dorothy, liked the painting so much that my father recreated it for her. He was in high school when he painted a replica for her as a Christmas gift. As a child, I also spent a lot of time at my "Auntie Dot's" house and I have memories of my father's painting hanging in her home. That painting now hangs at my father's house.

It remains a mystery to us as to why this painting was so beloved by my grandmother and her sister. I treasure it because it belonged to my grandmother and I think of her every time I look at it.

August 26 - Fun with HAIR!

OK, so it's more Billy Idol than bows & ribbons, but it was still fun :-) Katie had a blast showing off her "spiky hair" at dance class today!

August 25 - Nightly Routine

Sometimes, I feel like I am 34 going on 80.

Here are just a few of my therapeutic "remedies"...

- Ben Gay for muscle pain
- Traumeel to relieve inflammation in my feet
- The boot is worn to bed to keep my foot from relaxing...it is supposed to help with the plantar fasciitis/inflammation of the heel.

None of it really seems to help.

Getting old really stinks!!!!
